DIED-- At his home in Franklin twp., Allamakee County, Iowa, Nov. 25, 1910, John H. Dickson, aged 66 years, 11 months and 8 days.

John H. Dickson was born at Glasgow, Scotland, Dec. 17, 1843. When 9 years of age, with his parents, three brothers and two sisters, he arrived in New York, where the family resided for three years. In 1858 the family came to Iowa and settled on the farm which has since been his home.

In 1872 he was married to Miss Lemyra Dickenson at Buffalo, Kansas. To this union seven children were born , two sons and five daughters, who with the faithful wife, three brothers, one sister and three grandchildren mourn this parting with the husband, father and brother. Those who were able to make the funeral were: The wife; daughters, Mrs. Dr. Woods, her husband and three children of Tama, Iowa, the misses Grace and Florence; Brothers, Robert of Luana, and David of Waukon; a sister, Mrs. Oscar Collins of Luana. Unable to make the funeral were: a son, Charles; daughters, Nela and Louisa; a brother, William, who all reside in California.

Mr. Dickson was a member of the Methodist church and an earnest christian. He was also a member of Clayton Lodge No. 70 A.F. & A.M.

He was in Kansas for 3 years and served in the railway postal service for 4 years between Dubuque and McGregor. With his brother Reuben he has conducted the farm in Franklin township under the firm name Dickson Bros., a large farm, stock raising one of the principle features. -- Monona Billboard.
