Mrs. Lena Kuhse, aged 78 years, a resident of Postville since 1910, passed away at her home Monday afternoon at two o'clock following a three weeks illness and funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at two o'clock at the home. Rev. F. R. Ludwig will officiate and interment will be in Postville cemetery.
Mrs. Kuhse was born in Germany July 18, 1861, the daughter of Fritz and Marie Radloff, coming with her family to the United States when she was eighteen years old, locating at Clayton Center.
She was married to Gustav Kuhse at Guttenberg on May 20, 1895, and the couple located on a farm near Clayton Center, moving to Postville in 1910, which has since been her home.
She is survived by her adopted daughter, Mrs. Fred F. Meyer of this city; two step-children, Mrs. Martha Fascher of Farmersburg and Gustav Kuhse of Elkader; 18 grandchildren; one brother, Fred Radloff of Garner, and three sisters, Mrs. Chas. Strien of Farmersburg, Mrs. Herman Heins of postville, and Mrs. Bertha Ihde of Pine City, Minn. Two brothers and two sisters passed away some time ago. Mr. Kuhse passed away Aug. 20, 1925.
Six nephews will act as pallbearers at the funeral this afternoon, Fred, Wm., Chas., and Henry Landt, and Walter Heins of Luana, and George Radloff of Farmersburg.
