Postville Review, Sat., Sept. 1896.

Died.

McQuillen - At the residence of his parents in Postville, Aug. 31st, 1896, Jas. H. McQuillen, after a lingering illness of more than two years, aged 21 years and 4 months.

James McQuillen was compelled to quit work about two years ago on account of a sore coming on his leg resembling a white swelling. It grew worse, and last year he went to the hospital at Dubuque, but received little benefit. Last spring, through the efforts of friends, he was taken to Iowa City, where he remained several weeks, but came home no better. Since then he has been gradually failing and death came as a sweet relief from the pain. His remains were taken to Clermont on Wednesday, where the funeral was held from the Catholic church, Rev. Father Coyle officiating. The community mourns the sad ending of a promising young life, and sympathizes with the bereaved family.
