Fred W. Broszeit Last Rites Held

Funeral services for Fred William Broszeit, 76, were held Thursday afternoon, Feb. 13, at 1:30 p.m. at the Schultz Funeral home with Rev. R. E. Langholz officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery at Waukon.

Mr. Broszeit died suddenly at his home, Monday morning, Feb. 10, 1964, at about 11:30 a.m. from a heart attack. He was born a son of Daniel and Bertha (Christeleit) Broszeit, Aug. 29, 1887, in Germany. He lived in Germany until he came to America in 1911. In 1921 he moved to the Monona community from Volga. He made his living by farming and was retired for a number of years.

He was married to Agnes Gilster, Nov. 19, 1921.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Betty) Thornton, who died April 7, 1952. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Leola) Sawvell of McGregor; a son, Fred Broszeit,Jr. of Postville; his divorced wife of Frankville; a sister, Emma Gricksch of Monona; 11 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Alvin Klinkenberg, Gerald Klotzbach, Elmer Kurth, Roy Ulish, Paul Brase, Charles Blietz, and William Dettmann.
