George Bursell

George Bursell was born on June 4, 1876 and lived in the Postville area for many years. He died on July 29, 1964 at the Good Samaritan Center, Rockford, Iowa, where he had lived for the past 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife on February 19, 1957 and by his son, James Bursell on April 1, 1949.

He is survived by his daughter, Caroline, who lives at the Allamakee County home in Waukon, and a grandson, James Bursell, who was a member of the 1964 graduating class of the Postville high school.

Funeral services were conducted at the Schutte Funeral Home on July 31 by the Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Postville. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
