Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Schutte Funeral Home in this city where the Rev. F. R. Ludwig of St. Paul's Lutheran church will officiate, and at 2:30 o'clock in Marion Lutheran church at Gunder with the Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating. Interment will be in Postville cemetery. Mr. Bigler was born in Marion township, Clayton county, on August 20, 1871, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Bigler, and grew to manhood in that community.

On February 22, 1898, he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Swenson at the home of her parents in Post township. The couple set up housekeeping on a farm in Marion township and later located in Grand Meadow township where they lived until six years ago when they retired and moved to Postville.

Five children were born to this union, Lorenz, Anna (Mrs. Robert Wettleson), Richard, Lloyd and Alma (Mrs. Harry Heins), all but the latter of whom survive as does Mrs. Bigler and eight grandchildren.
