Lillian Elizabeth Burdick

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Schutte Funeral Home to the Community Presbyterian Church for Mrs. A. S. Burdick, 76, who passed away at her home here at 2:15 a.m. October 15, 1952 following a lingering illness.

The rites were in charge of Rev. Walter T. Martin. The O. E. S., of which Mrs. Burdick had been a member, assisted in the service. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

Lillian Elizabeth Riley Burdick was born March 28, 1876 in Grand Meadow township, Clayton county, 4 miles east of Postville, the daughter of Joseph and Emily Riley.

On May 10, 1899 she was united in marriage to Arthur S. Burdick in Postville and to this union one son was born, Edward L. Burdick, now of Chicago.

Her church affiliation was the Postville community Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the O. E. S. for over 50 years and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was active in both organizations when her health would permit.

She is survived by her husband and son. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and one brother.
