E. E. Burdick Passes At Minneapolis Sunday

Elbert Eugene Burdick, 83, a former resident of Postville and the Hardin community, passed away Sunday, March 7, 1948, while shoveling snow at his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a brother of Arthur S. Burdick of this city who left yesterday to attend the funeral in Minneapolis.

The deceased was a son of the late William Nelson and Amy (Halstead) Burdick of this city. He lived for many years on the farm now owned by Lawrence Schultz near Hardin. Upon retiring, he and his family moved to Minneapolis where they have since lived.

Mr. Burdick, in addition to his brother, Arthur, is survived by his widow, who was the former Ella Taylor of this city, 2 sons, Wesley and Eugene, and 2 daughters, Lois and Amy. The 4 Burdick children are graduates of Postville high school. Eugene and Amy living in Seattle, Wash., and Wesley and Lois, now Mrs. Ray Burnham, live in Minneapolis.
