Wm. F. Heins Passes After Long Illness.

William F. Heins, son of Herman and Minnie Heins, was born at Clayton Center, Iowa, March 5, 1863, and passed away at his home in Postville, Iowa, April 7, 1932, his demise following a protracted period of failing health.

On May 18, 1887, at Monona, he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Lange, who survives to mourn his departure. To this union four daughters were born: Ida, who died in infancy; Mrs. Fred Gericke and Mrs. Carl C. Sander, both of Postville; and Mrs. Alfred Olson of Waterloo. Mrs. Heins and the three daughters were with him during his last illness and it was a great comfort to him to have their affectionate care.

Mr. Heins also leaves three grandchildren: Milo and Cloy Gericke and Helen Sander; one great-grandchild, Ramona Meyer; one sister, Mrs. Eugene Connor of Elkader; three brothers, Herman and Louis of Postville and George of Luana; one aunt, Mrs. Dora Heins of Postville. One brother, Henry, preceded him in death.

For twenty-eight years after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Heins lived on their farm southeast of Postville, and for the past seventeen years they have been residents of this city.

As a child Mr. Heins was baptized in the Lutheran church of Garnavillo and later was confirmed in the Lutheran church of Clayton Center. For the past years he has been a faithful attendant at the Community Presbyterian church of Postville.

Besides the loss sustained by his family, his passing brings sorrow to a host of friends. His sturdy honesty and simple and deep christian faith endeared him to all who knew him. This whole community unites in expressing sympathy with his loved ones.

The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon from the Community Presbyterian church, Dr. R. F. Galloway officiating, and the large assemblage of sympathizing friends present was ample testimony of the high place he held in the hearts of those among whom he had lived for so many years. Interment was made in Postville cemetery.

The following from out of town were here to attend the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Connor and Mary, Lester Connor and daughter, Elkader; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klinkenberg and Will Kurth, Monona; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Klinkenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lubbers, Farmersburg; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schave and family, Mr. and Mrs. John O.
