Postville National Advocate, Thur., Dec. 11, 1884.

As we close our forms, we learn of the sudden and sad death of W. N. Piper. Between five and six o'clock, Wednesday evening, as Mr. Piper was passing F. W. Roberts' store, he was taken with a paralytic fit and fell on the walk. He was carried into Roberts' store and after a time was apparently better, but he was seized with another spasm and expired before medical aid could be procured.

Mr. Piper was a kind hearted, jovial man, who had a good word for everybody, and was a plasterer by trade. His death will cause deep sorrow among his wide circle of friends.

We are unable to give further particulars.
