FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR HENRY N. WAGNER

Funeral Services were held at nine-thirty Monday morning at Immaculate Conception Church in Wexford, for Henry N. Wagner, 65, a life long resident of that community who passed away Thursday, August 21st at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Wakon. He had been in failing health for the past year and death resulted from a lingering illness.

He was born February 22, 1893 at Lansing, a son of Mary Strub and Nicholas Wager and one of a large family. Following his education in the rural schools he farmed and on September 17,1918 was married to Mary Donahue at St.Ann's Church in Harpers Ferry and they farmed in this vicinity ever since. Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Mark of Lafayette township; Francis, of near Waterville; Mrs. Leroy McCabe of near Waukon and Rosemary at home. Other immediate survivors include two brothers, Joseph and Frank of Lansing; five sisters, Mrs. Thomas Manning, Mrs.Leo Tully, of Dubuque; Mrs. Clyde Allyn, Mrs. L.A. Miller, Rockford, Ill; Mrs. Angline Davison, Chantanooga, Tenn; and several grandchildren. His parents, a sister, and a brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Wagner was an industrious farmer all his life, interested in family and church as well as civic affairs, and held several positions of trust in local activities. The large wake and funeral attendance was evidence of the high esteem in which he was held in this community.
A Solemn Requiem Mass was offered for the repose of his Soul with Father Edgar Kolfenbach celebrant, Father Maurice Tracy deacon; and Father Al White sub-deacon. Also present in the sanctuary were Father Cletus Hawes of Dubuque and Father Donald Hawes of Mason City. Burial was in the family lot in the adjoining cemetery and casket bearers were Henry and Cyril Manning, Cletus and Nicholas Wagner, Peter Dobel and James Seeley.

Among the out of county relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Manning; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Manning, Mr and Mrs. Herbert Odefy, Mr and Mrs. Leo Tully, James Manning, Art Fisch, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gavin, Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Hintgen, Mr. and Mrs. Al Barry of Dubuque. Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dobel, Mrs. Lucille Sheldon, Rockford, Ill. the Cletus Sweeney family, Mrs. William Manning, Waterloo. Mrs. Ed Wagner, Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Wagner, Chereville, Ind. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Huffman, New Hampton. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Small, Bloomington, Wisc. Mrs. Angeline Davison, Chatanooga, Tenn.
