Mrs. Gus D. Harrington Passes At Marshalltown.

Mrs. Gussie D. Harrington, 70, a former Postville resident, passed away last Wednesday at St. Thomas Mercy hospital in Marshalltown, in which city the family home was located. She had been in poor health the past several weeks.

Mrs. Harrington was born at Elkader, November 26, 1874, as May Prior, a daughter of John and Mary Gates Prior. At the age of three years she moved with her family to Guttenberg which place was the family home for 16 years. They then moved to Postville where she was married to Mr. Harrington on January 6, 1906. They moved to Marshalltown in 1917 and have resided there since.

Surviving are Mr. Harrington, one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Nichless of Marshalltown, one son, Dean A. Harrington of Niagra Falls, N.Y., who just recently returned to the states from naval service in the Pacific area; one sister, Mrs. Jane Lien of Cleveland, Ohio, and two grandchildren, Pfc. David L. Brockway in Germany, and Gail Nichless of Marshalltown.

Funeral services were held in Marshalltown Friday afternoon and burial was in Riverside in that city. Going from here to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Harrington and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lange. Also in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Max Dayton of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Jane Lien of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dean Harrington who had his leave extended in order to attend his mother's funeral. Dean's wife, a member of the W.A.C., was also present, being home on furlough.
