Harlo Chapman Taylor, an old and respected resident of this city, passed away on Friday, April 2, 1937, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Ellis, where he made his home, at the age of 79 years, three months and 21 days.

He was born in Ohio December 12, 1857, and in later years moved to Seward, Nebraska, where he took up railroad work.

On January 13, 1880, he was married to Mary Jane Bray, who preceded him in death on July 23, 1911. Their union was blessed with three children, Mrs. J. P. Ellis of Postville, Mrs. Ida Houchin of Chicago and Lee Taylor of St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

In 1894 he moved to Postville, where for a time he was section foreman.

In the fall of 1904 he moved to Princeton, Minnesota, where he worked in a cement plant, later moving to Hopkins, where he worked in the Minneapolis engine factory for 13 years. In 1930 he returned to Postville, and since that time has made his home here with his daughter, Mrs. J. P. Ellis.

He is survived by his three children heretofore named, 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was a loving husband, kind father and upright citizen.

Funeral services were held from the Schutte funeral home on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. E. Crippen, pastor of the U. B. church. Interment was made in the Postville cemetery.
