Postville Herald, Fri., Feb. 27, 1920.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

The people of Postville were not a little shocked on Wednesday morning when the news was passed around that Mrs. Thomas Folsom had passed away during the night. She had been in her usual health and attending to her household duties as usual during Tuesday until about the supper hour, when of a sudden she complained of a severe headache and went to bed. A doctor was at once called who saw that she had suffered a paralytic stroke and gave little hope for recovery, but the patient lingered until eleven o'clock that night when with scarce a stuggle her wearied spirit crossed over to the better land.

The blow is a sorry one for our old friend Tom, who but a few short months ago had moved to town, purchased a home and had just got nicely settled, and with his wife was preparing to enjoy a well earned rest after years of toil on the farm, when the knight of the sable mantle with little warning of his approach calls and takes from him his life's partner.

Eliza Ewing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ewing, was born in Post township, October 24, 1857. She was united in marrige with Thomas Folsom, September 30, 1877. Ten children were born to this union, two daughters and eight sons, all of whom, with the father survive her. The Children are Lonnie, Rachel, William, Lee, Richard, Melbert, Austin, Angie, Gilbert and Milo. She was a good wife, mother, neighbor, friend, held in high regard by a wide circle of acquaintances gained through a lifelong residence in Post township, and all who knew her will sincerely mourn her passing.

The tenderest sympathy of all goes out to the husband and children in the great sorrow they are so suddenly called upon to bear.

The funeral will be held from the M. E. church in Postville this (Friday)\ afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in Postville cemetery.
