A message to Mrs. John Casten of this city on July Fourth brought the sad news of the passing of her brother, Carl Knodt, aged 82 years, at his home in Hartford, South Dakota, that day. His death leaves Mrs. Casten the sole survivor of the Knodt family.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Casten, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Casten, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Welzel and Vic Casten, all of this community, have gone to attend the funeral services at Hartford. John Casten was unable to attend owing to the death here of his sister, Mrs. Wm. Foels, the same day.
