Rites Held For Miss Brainard

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, 2 p.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Postville for Carlene Brainard, 16, who passed away October 15 at the hospital in Waukon. Rev. Charles E. Witt officiated.

Carlene Louise Brainard was born September 9, 1938 at Lansing, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Delpha (Moore) Brainard. She was baptized in February 1939 at the Methodist Church in Monona, and confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on April 6, 1952.

She was a member of what was formerly the Cherub Choir of St. Paul's and the Junior Choir and the Luther League, as much as her health permitted her to participate.

She is survived by her parents, 2 sisters, Callie Rose and Dixie; 2 brothers, Robert and Charles and a host of relatives and friends.
