Waukon, Ia.--(Special)-- Tony Ahlstrom received word Thursday that his mother, Mrs. Christi(??) Ahlstrom, had passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. D. Fisher, at Hope, N. D., from the infirmities of age.

She was born in Ostergotland, Sweden in 1838, and was a daughter of Peter Johnson. In 1852 the family came to America in a sailing vessel. They arrived in Allamakee county in 1853 and Mr. Johnson purchased 120 acres of land in Center township at 1.25 an acre. When 18 years of age she was married to Magnus Ahlstrom, who died at the advanced age of 94 years.

Eleven children were born to this union, five of whom are living, namely: Tony Ahlstrom, Waukon; August, Lansing; E. A. and Mrs. Bessie Ahlstrom, Minneapolis and Mrs. G. D. Fisher, Hope, N.D.

The remains were brought to Lansing and funeral services will be held at the Baptist church in Center township Sunday, with burial in the family lot in the adjacent cemetery.
