Mrs. Bertha Powers, 60, Passes Away At Ossian.

Mrs. Bertha Powers, 60, sister of Conrad and Frank Hangartner of Postville, passed away at her home in Ossian a week ago Sunday and funeral services were held last Wednesday morning at St. Francis church in Ossian with interment in the cemetery nearby.

She was born in Ludlow township February 9, 1881, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hangartner. On January 27, 1903, she was married to Edward Powers at Ossian and to them were born seven children, all of whom survive. In addition to her two brothers, Con and Frank, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kiner, in Chester, So. Dak. Mr. Powers passed away in 1917.
