Marcene Schutte Passes Following Brief Illness.

Marcene Louise Schutte, ten year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Schutte of this city, past away last Thursday at the University hospital in Iowa City following a several weeks illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Schutte Funeral Home with the Rev. F. R. Ludwig conducting and interment was made in Postville cemetery.

Flower girls at the service were Joan Christofferson, Doris Ann Meyer, Arlene Schultz, Lora Marie Lofstuen, June Schroeder and Dorothea Meyer. The pallbearers were Jackie Overeen, John Hoth, John Dresser, Donald Heins, Eugene Rima and Jimmie Waters.

Marcene was born August 25, 1931, in Postville and had spent her entire life here. She was baptized March 13, 1932, had been active in St. Paul's Sunday school and would have entered the fifth grade in school this week.

She is survived by her parents and two sisters, Darlene and Rosa Lee, by her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Geno and her grandfather, Fred Schutte, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Out-of-town people here for the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kamps, Miss Lizzie Kamps and Mrs. Cyril Kruse of Dubuque, Wm. Foels and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Diederichs and children of Harmony, Minn.
