Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the Schutte Funeral Home to the Forest Mills church for Mrs. Anna Eckert, 76, who passed away at Postville Hospital November 13 following a lingering illness. Rev. F. R. Ludwig, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, conducted the rites. Burial was in Smithfield cemetery.
Born In Michigan.
Mrs. Anna Roffman Eckert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Roffman, was born March 17, 1873 in Michigan, and departed this life November 13, 1949 at the Postville Hospital after a lingering illness at the age of 76 years.
Mrs. Eckert was baptized in the Lutheran church.
When a small child she moved with her parents to Allamakee county.
The deceased was united in marriage with Christ Eckert on November 30, 1893. To this union one son was born, Lloyd, who passed away in 1919.
Mr. and Mrs. Eckert moved to the present location which has since been her home.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband; two sisters; Mrs. John Eckert of Waukon, and Mrs. Henry Van Gorder of Postville; one brother; William Roffman of Forest Mills.
