She was married at an early age to Mr. Clarence Kaylor, who died a few years later, leaving her with her young son, Cornell Kaylor. Mrs. Kaylor and "Cornie" came to Postville with A. E. Cornell in 1886, and together they took charge of the Cmmercial Hotel. After remaining here three and a half years, Mrs. Kaylor returned to Dwight, where "Cornie" passed away at the age of 14 years. She was called to mourn the loss of both her parents in 1900, since which time she has made her home in Chicago, where she was engaged in various business enterprises until a few years ago when she was compelled to retire from active work on account of impaired health. Cornell, the only surviving member of the family, was summoned from Los Angeles. He did not arrive until after her death. Her remains were brought to Postville where a simple and beautiful service was held in the parlor of the Congregational church, conducted by Rev. L. W. Wiltberger. A service was also held in Chicago.

Mrs. Kaylor was a woman of many good qualities, a pleasant, amiable disposition, a true friend, always ready to help the poor o runfortunate and a good business woman. Besides her brther and family she leaves many other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. She was laid to rest by the side of her mother and father in Postville cemetery.
