Ira Sanke Bollman Funeral Services

Funeral services for Ira Sanke Bollman, 88, were held Saturday afternoon, July 3, at 2 p.m. at the Forest Mills Evangelical United Brethren church with Rev. Curtis Webster officiating.

The body lay in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the services. Burial was in the Smithfield cemetery.

Mr. Bollman died Tuesday, June 29, at the Waukon Veterans' Memorial hospital, which he entered June 24, from complications of old age. He had been ill for about 3 weeks and had also been hospitalized at Lutheran hospital in La Crosse, Wis.

Mr. Bollman was born a son of Enoch H. and Mahulda (Bates) Bollman, June 1, 1877 at Postville. He received his education in the rural schools of Allamakee county and at Postville High School.

He was married to Edna Perkins of Forest Mills, April 1, 1906. They went to farming, living in the Forest Mills area the remainder of their lives. He had lived at the Good Samaritan center in Waukon the last several years.

He was a member of the Forest Mills E. U. B. church.

Preceding him death were his parents, his wife, and 3 brothers, Marshall of Lemon, S. D., Charles of Monona, and William of Berwyn, Ill. He was the last surviving member of his family.

Music at the services was provided by a duet composed of Beverly Phillips and Joan Koehn. Mrs. Kenneth Ewing was the organist.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Leatrice of Marquette and Mrs. Maurice (Helen) Price of Dubuque; 5 sons, Donald and Everett of Luana, Leo of Monona, Avery of Waverly, and Clyde of Strawberry Point; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were William Powell, Merle Baade, Elliott Nelson, Adrian Riveland, George Smith, Don McShane, Harold Schroeder, and Lloyd Lamborn.
