Former Postville Pastor Dead.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

While enroute to Mason City last Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Bollman, of this city, met Mrs. P. M. Phillips and her family at Jackson Junction, they being enroute to Garner with the body of their husband and father for burial. We find the following in Wednesday's Telegraph Herald concerning his demise:

"Rev. P. M. Phillips, who had entered upon his third year as pastor of the M. E. church at Colesburg, passed away at the parsonage Friday, November 14, in his fifty-sixth year. The cause of his death was cerebral congestion. This was the second death in the family since locating there. Perry M. Phillips was born in Harrison county, Ohio, May 30, 1864, received his education and entered the work of the ministry in his native state. He was united in marriage in August 1890 with Miss Ina B. Pollock, who with four sons and one daughter, survive to mourn his loss. The remains were taken to Garner for interment. Rev. A. C. Panzlau accompanied the family to Garner."

Rev. Phillips was pastor of the M. E. church in Postville for a number of years just preceding his pastorate at Colsburg, and during his stay in our midst made many friends both in and outside of the church, who will sincerely regret to hear of his passing and sympathize sincerely with the family who mourn the loss of a most excellent christian husband and father.
