Christ Poesch Passes On At His Home Here Friday.

Christ Poesch, 70 years old, and a resident of this community for many years, passed away last Friday following a protracted period of failing health. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. F. R. Ludwig officiating and interment was made in Postville cemetery.

Christian John Poesch was born as the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Poesch near Clayton Center, December 28, 1868. He came to this community when two years old with his parents who located on what is now the Gass farm southeast of Postville. For many years he followed farming and moved to Postville in 1919.

He was married to Miss Anna Schroeder of Postville February 19, 1891, and to them three children were born, of whom Ed. Poesch and Mrs. Henry Koenig survive. A son, George, and his first wife passed away in 1918.

Mr. Poesch married Mrs. Minnie Koenig Rose December 20, 1921, and she survives him together with the two step-children, Arbie Rose of Postville, and Irey Rose of West Union.

Mr. Poesch was a lifelong Lutheran, being a communicant member of St. Paul's church at the time of his passing.
