The funeral service of Mrs. J. E. Welsch, whose passing was briefly mentioned in these columns last week, was held Saturday afternoon. After a brief service at the home of her mother, Mrs. H. A. Lange, where the departed one had spent the last few weeks immediately preceding her death, the mortal remains, followed by those nearest of kin, were taken to the First Congregational church, where they were joined by many other saddened relatives and friends in the last rites.

Here the Rev. L. W. Wiltberger, discussing the mystery of life as it was, is and will be, greatly consoled the sorrow-stricken hearts of those who are left behind with a few well chosen words; quoting the Man of Mystery, "What I do thou knowest not now, but thou shalt know hereafter."

Interment was made in Postville Cemetery, the Pallbearers being J. L. Gregg, A.J. Phillips, L. E. Thoma, I. G. Riley, J. W. Campbell, Wm. J. Klingbeil.
