Rites Held For Wm. Everman Saturday.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Postville for Wm. Everman, 75, who passed away early Thursday, May 24. The Rev. C. E. Witt, pastor of St. Paul's, was in charge of the rites. Burial was in Postville Cemetery.
Born In Germany.
William Everman passed away suddenly with a heart attack at his home during the early morning hours of Thursday, May 24, 1956, aged 75 years and 24 days.
He retired from farming in October 1944 because of ill health when the family moved to Postville.
William John Carl Everman, son of Frederick and Minnie Everman, was born in Mecklenburg, Germany, on May 01, 1881. At the age of 10 years he came with his parents to the United States and the family settled in this community. He was baptized Lutheran and confirmed in 1895 in the Lutheran church at Postville. On February 20, 1908, he was married to Emma Elizabeth Wegner. To this union eight children were born, of which seven survive: Marie (Mrs. Harry Davis), Florence (Mrs. Gordon Lawson), Gretchen (Mrs. Clinton Meyer), Irene (Mrs. Hubert Mounce), Clarence, Harold and Pauline at home.
In addition to his widow and children, he is survived by 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Rudy of Postville, Walter and Fred of Castalia, and one sister, Mrs. Cynthia Baltz of Postville.
His parents, one son, and one granddaughter preceded him in death.
