Mrs. Edna Hagen died at the home of her parents in this city Friday, August 9, at 12:20 A.M. For several years she had been troubled by diabetes and Monday July 29, further complications made her recovery impossible.

Edna was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Christensen and was born Sept 28, 1898. She was married to Arthur Hagen June 26, 1922, and to them was born a son, Ralph, who lived only a few hours. Not long afterwards her husband met with an accident, which was fatal and since his death Mrs Hagen has made her home with her parents. Through her bereavements and sufferings, only her kindly manner and unfailing patience could preserve that pleasant disposition which will remain the the memory of her friends and relatives.

Besides her parents, Mrs Hagen is survived by six sisters and three brothers. They are: Mrs. Chas. Glaus, Mrs. Aldwin Ahlstrom, Mrs. Henry Olson, Mrs. Robert Ahlstrom, Mrs. Frank Sandry, Miss Esther Christensen, and Arthur, Carl and Floyd Christensen. They all reside in Waukon and vicinity. A sister and brother preceded her in death.

The funeral services were held at 1:30P.M. Sunday, August 11 at the home of her parents and at 2:00P.M. at St. John’s Lutheran church with Rev. Erickson officiating. Interment was made in Oakland Cemetery by the side of her husband and child.
The following express the tender sentiments of the bereaved:
A precious one from us has gone,

A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God, in his wisdom has recalled,
The boon his love has given.
And though the body slumbers now,
The soul is safe in heaven.
