Charles "Chink" Folsom, age 83, of Waukon, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Home,
Postville. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 8 at Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church
with Pastor Kenneth Kimball officiating. Burial was in Old West Paint Creek Cemetery. Hanson
Funeral Homes assisted with arrangements. Charles was born April 9, 1920, in Postville, the son
of Milo Folsom and Alice Meier. On November 26, 1947, he married Pearl Kuhse in Postville. The
couple lived in Postville, Monona, Waterville, and Waukon. Charles was a member of Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church. Survivors include seven children, Lee (Letha) Folsom, Lynn Folsom, Leo (JoAnn) Folsom, Marie (Ralph) Plein, Clark (Tina) Folsom, Sandy (Pat) Blake, and Larry Jo (Julie) Magner; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and three siblings, Jean Berge, Patsy Kerndt, and Roland "Butch" Folsom. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; one daughter, Alice (Riley) Magner; and one sister, Betty Shafer.Casketbearers were Aaron Folsom, Jamie Riley, Darren Magner, Mark Folsom, Tyler Plein, Patrick Blake, Shawn Blake, Matt Miller, and Charlie Folsom.
