Sam Allan Hermanson was born silently February 25, 2004 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Iowa. A private prayer service was led by Pastor Harlan Kaden at the hospital. Sam was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Hermanson and great-grandparents Virgil Behrns, Harry Blohm, Sever and Cecila Hermanson, and Jerry and Maude O'Hare.

Sam leaves behind his parents Dave and Angie (Behrns) Hermanson and his brothers, Devin, Mason, and Morgan Hermanson, all of Hopkinton, Iowa; maternal grandparents John and Sue Behrns of Delhi, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Mary Hermanson of Waukon, Iowa; great-grandparents LaVera Behrns and Florence Blohm, both of Traer, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
