Funeral services for Cyril Dean "Cy" Huffman, age 65, of Waterloo, Iowa were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 1998 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo, Iowa under the auspices of Trinity Wesleyan in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Rev. John Miller officiated. Burial was in the Waterloo Cemetery with arrangements by Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service. Casket bearers were Matt Brown, Harry Nelson, Glenn Franklin, Jim Boleyn, Duane Driscoll, and Claude LaFlamme.

Cyril Dean "Cy" Huffman, son of Frank and Gladys (Henderson) Huffman, was born August 24, 1932 in Rossville, Iowa in Allamakee County. On November 8, 1953 Cy married Sylvia Hastings in Mississippi. For 33 years he worked in the smokehouse department of Rath Packing and also co-owned the Village Lounge for eight years. Later he was self-employed.

Cyril Dean Huffman died Thursday, January 22, 1998 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa of cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers Gene Huffman, Keith Huffman, and Don Huffman.

Cyril is survived by his wife, Sylvia; 1 son, Todd Huffman of Lakeville, Minnesota and 3 daughters, Kimberly Kudej of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Lisa McDermott of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and Penny Horan of Waterloo, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ralph Huffman of Waukon, Iowa and Milton Huffman of Decorah, Iowa; and 2 sisters, Helen Mathis and Joyce Rea of Waukon, Iowa.
