Funeral services for Eunice Elaine Gelo, age 76, of Waukon were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22 at Martin Funeral Home with George H. Grover officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa. Casket bearers were Jeff Gelo, Steve Gelo, David Gelo, Todd Gelo, David Meyer, and Curtis Baier.

Eunice Elaine, daughter of Julius and Julia (Swenson) Krousie. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1940 and on March 4, 1941 she married Arthur J. Gelo in Dubuque, Iowa. Eunice loved cooking and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and raising flowers. As a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, she was a preacher of the good news of God's established Kingdom for 44 years.

Eunice Elaine Gelo died Friday, April 18, 1997 at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Violet Barr, and four brothers, Allan Krousie, Robert Krousie, John Krousie, and Bud Krousie.

Eunice is survived by her husband Arthur of Waukon, Iowa; 3 sons, Gary (Gloria) Gelo of Waukon, Iowa, Dennis (Susie) Gelo of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Greg Gelo of Marshalltown, Iowa; 2 daughters, JoAnn (Terry) Rodgers of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Julie (Roger) Blomgren of Rochester, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a brother Earl Krousie of Dumont, New Jersey, and a sister, Helen Rovang of Decorah, Iowa.
