Mrs. Christofferson Rites Are Today

Mrs. Reuben Christofferson passed away at the home of her son, Harold Christofferson, Sunday afternoon, May 15, following an extended illness.

Funeral service were held Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. Walter T. Martin. Mrs. Walter T. Martin sang "Abide with Me" and "Saved by Grace". Mrs. Robert Burling accompanied at the organ.

Lena Louisa Koenig, daughter of William and Charlotte Koenig was born April 21, 1882 at Ossian, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Reuben Christofferson February 26, 1905. To this union two sons were born, Otis of Drakesville and Harold of Postville, who with her husband survive.

She eight grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Poesch and Mrs. George Schroeder, both of Postville, three brothers, Louis Koenig of Postville, William and Fritz Koenig of Castalia, who also survive.

Three sisters preceded her in death, Mrs. Louise Kaiser, Mrs. Rosina Ruckdaschel and Charlotte who passed away in infancy.

It was in December 1948 that she and her husband moved to Postville.
