Funeral services for Loretta Ryan age 102, of Northgate Care Center in Waukon, Iowa were held at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial was in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery, West Ridge, in Allamakee County with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Loran Schulte, Bryan Schulte, Brad Beall, Michael Beall, Larry McGraw, and Dan Anderson.

Loretta was born April 27, 1897 in West Ridge in Allamakee County, Iowa to James and Hanorah (Magner) Drew. On February 17, 1931 she married Joseph Ryan at West Ridge. Loretta was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and St. Theresa Study Club.

Loretta Ryan died Sunday, May 9, 1999 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph, a daughter Catherine Ryan, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, a brother John Joseph Drew, and two sisters, Ethel Urell and Catherine Drew.

Loretta is survived by her children, Mary Jane (Donald) McGraw and Shirley (Leon) Schulte, both of Waukon, Iowa, James (Linda) Ryan of Davenport, Iowa, and Theresa (Richard) Beall of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
