Funeral services for Ellen L. Marti, age 84, of Waterville, Iowa, were held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 2 at the Waterville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kim Thacker officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery with arrangements by Martin Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Gordon Marti, Harold Kerndt, Albert Marti, Richard Marti, Carl Christianson, Lester Fish, and Dale Hartong.

Ellen L., daughter of Carl A. and Thorine (Anderson) Christianson, was born April 2, 1912 on their farm in rural Waterville, Iowa She attended rural Dalby School near Waterville, Iowa. On April 2, 1935 she married Albert Marti in Decorah, Iowa. Albert died November 3, 1962. She was a helper with Waterville Lutheran Church
Circles and a lifetime Allamakee County resident.

Ellen L. Marti died Friday, August 30, 1996 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Edwin Christianson and a sister Thelma.

She is survived by 2 sons, Richard (Anabelle) Marti of Waukon, Iowa and Robert Marti of Luana, Iowa; 2 grandsons; 2 sisters, Lillian Christianson of Waukon, Iowa and Verna (Victor) Samb of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and a brother, Charles (Helen) Christianson.
