Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Pauline Mary Robinson, age 94, former Harpers Ferry, Iowa resident, were held Friday June 29 at St. Ann's - St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry. Father Duane Raftis conducted the services and burial was in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon, Iowa was in charge of the services. Casket bearers were Martin Boardman, Karl Hosemann, Daniel Schlitter, Raymond Manning, Leon Manning, and Richard Meehan.
Pauline Mary, daughter of David and Francis (La Tronche) Martell, was born in Harpers Ferry, Iowa on March 17, 1896. She attended rural schools near her home. On November 10, 1916 she and Hiram Robinson were married at the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. She lived most of her life in Harpers Ferry before moving to the Dubuque Health Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa three years ago. She was a member of St. Ann's - St. Joseph's Church and St. Ann's Rosary Society.
Pauline Mary Robinson died Monday, June 25, 1990 at Dubuque Health Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hiram, a daughter Monica Duke, 2 step-children, Gladys Roitenberg and Harold Robinson, and eight * See Note below * brothers, and sisters, Clifford Martell, Peter Martell, David Martell, Monica Martell, Mildred Robinson, Stella Melvin, and Anna Birdsell.
Pauline is survived by a son Elmer Robinson of Dubuque, Iowa; 2 step-children, Hazel Schlitter of Waukon, Iowa and Grace Spilde of California; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Walter Duke of Florida.
NOTE: The obituary stated 8 brothers and sisters but only listed 7 siblings.
