Funeral services for Charles Alan Baxter, age 23, of rural New Albin, Iowa were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 24 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin, Iowa. Burial was in the church cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon, Iowa in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Joseph Baxter, Patrick Baxter, Jeff Holland, Ted Rodenkirk, John Schommers, and Steve Kraner.

Charles Alan Baxter, son of William J. and Hazel (Rodenkirk) Baxter was born November 10, 1966 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He graduated from Caledonia, Minnesoata High School and received a degree in diesel mechanics from a technical school in Austin, Minnesota. He was an industrial worker and a member of St. Joseph's Parish, New Albin, Iowa.

Charles died Tuesday, August 21, 1990 at his rural New Albin, Iowa home. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Cyril Baxter in 1964, and Daniel Baxter in 1977, his Grandfather Baxter and his Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William Rodenkirk.

He is survived by his parents; 4 brothers, Joseph Baxter, and Patrick Baxter, at home, Paul Baxter of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and Frank Baxter of San Diego, California; 5 sisters, Loretta Baehr of North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Ellen Hosmanek of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Julie Baxter of Caledonia, Minnesota, Margaret Baxter of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and Donna Baxter, at home; and his paternal grandmother, Leona Baxter of Waukon, Iowa.
