Funeral services for Karl Burton Mosier, age 69, were held Friday, May 4 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon, Iowa with the Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Burial, with military rites, was held at the Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Gene Johnson, Charles Welch, Tom Welch, Tim Welch, Darren Snitker, and Karl Suckow. Members of the American Legion and the VFW served as honorary pallbearers.

Karl Burton Mosier, son of Alden and Margaret (Palmer) Mosier, was born July 8, 1920 in Allamakee County, Iowa. He was a graduate of Waukon High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific from November 1942 to January 1946. On November 12, 1949 he was united in marriage to Deloris Mae Ewing at the First Presbyterian Church parsonage in Waukon, Iowa. Karl was a partner in Hausladen's Auto Supply for many years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he held various offices, served on the Waukon City Council and the Oakland Cemetery board. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the VFW. Karl enjoyed working with horses and was a member of the Upper Iowa Saddle Club.

Karl died Tuesday, May 1, 1990 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Zella.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris, a son Greg Mosier of Monona, Iowa and a sister, Joyce (Otto) Suckow of Waterloo, Iowa.
