Kneeland, Francis P. 84, of Brookfield, husband of Joyce (nee Mickelson) Kneeland, for 59 years, died on June 12, 2011. Fran was born in Clermont, Iowa, on July 25, 1926, to the late William "Bill" Kneeland and Helen (nee Waters) Kneeland. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert, and sister, Nancy Ward. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Jan and her partner Paul Melecsinsky of Burlington, CT and Kathy Guzman and her partner Jim Strelow of Sheboygan, WI, grandson Quinn Guzman and great-grandson Logan Francis. He graduated from Postville (Iowa) High School in 1943, served in the Navy 1944-1946 and went on to graduate magna cum laude with a B.S. in accounting from the University of Norte Dame in 1948. He was employed by Fireman's Fund Insurance Company for 40 years in sales and management positions in Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin retiring as Resident Vice President of the Milwaukee branch office. Fran loved music, played saxophone in the Notre Dame marching band and sang in the church choir. He was a faithful fan of the Fighting Irish, spending many football weekends in South Bend over the years with Joyce and former classmates and their wives. Fran's family would like to thank the many caring friends and neighbors for their phone calls, visits, prayers and emotional support and the dedicated staff of the Congregational Home for their compassionate care. Visitation will be at St. Joseph's Church, 12130 W. Center St., Wauwatosa on Thursday, June 16, from 9:30AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Private burial will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fran's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association
