Funeral services for Jennie O. Uren, age 85, of Lansing, Iowa were held Saturday, September 9, 1990 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lansing, Iowa. The Rev. Peter Samuelson officiated. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing, Iowa. Casket bearers were David Olson, James Brennan, Gerald Brennan, Tim Hogan, Martin Brennan, Tom Whiteaker, Michael Brennan, and Patrick Heiderscheit. Honorary pallbearers were Levi Sweat, Ted Troendle, Gene Wood, Tom Van Brocklin, Steve Van Brocklin, Craig Koenen, and Kyle Koenen. Burke Thornberg Funeral Home of Lansing, Iowa was in charge of the arrangements.

Jennie was born April 7, 1905 in Dalby, Allamakee County, Iowa to Otto and Jonetta (Jensen) Peterson. On October 8, 1925 she married Archibald Thomas Uren in Waukon, Iowa. He died December 25, 1950.

Jennie died Thursday, September 6, 1990 at Thornton Manor Center in Lansing, Iowa. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Shirley Koenen; 2 brothers, Carl Peterson and Hjalmer Peterson; and 4 sisters, Myrtle Peterson, Anna Peterson, Ellen Dee, and Johanna McCoy.

Jennie is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Van Brocklin of Payson, Arizona, Joyce Brennan of Lansing, Iowa and Ruby Olson of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Esther Sweat of New Albin, Iowa, Minnie Troendle and Martina Wood, both of Lansing, Iowa.
