James Keefe, formerly of waukon, Iowa, died in Monterey, California, following a lingering illness. Burial services were held Monday, November 17, 1997 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, waukon, Iowa with the Right Rev. Msgr, Ed Lechtenberg officiating.

James was born March 1, 1936 to Ambrose and Esther Keefe. He attended St. Patrick's Elementary and High School, graduating in 1954. He was a veteran, having served in the army for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Donald Keefe and Thomas Keefe, and a sister, Margaret Meadows.

Surviving are 2 brothers, William (Liz) Keefe of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and John (Dorothy) Keefe of Whitewater, Wisconsin, and nieces and nephews.
