Graveside services were held Saturday, July 25 for Eileen Marion Howard, age 91, of Apple Valley, California. She died February 21, 1998 at the Apple Valley Care Center. The 10 a.m. services were held at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa with the Rev. Lynn Groe of the St. John's Lutheran Church officiating.

She was born October 13, 1906 in Waukon, Iowa to William and Roxie (Olson) Thomson. In 1929 she married Robert Simmers. After his death Eileen married James Howard in 1960. She lived most of her life in southern California where she was a real estate broker.

Survivors include a daughter, Kerin (Richard) Lambert of Hesperial, California, a brother, Lester (Ann) Thomson of Waukon, Iowa, 2 sisters, Betty(Curtis) Piggott of Waukon, Iowa and Charlotte Deacon of Arcadia, California and 10 grandchildren.
