Jonas Svendson, age 72, of Spring Grove, Minnesota died Wednesday, August 13, 1986 at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin of a heart attack. He had been ill for 13 days. Memorial services were held Saturday morning August 16 at the Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church, rural Dorchester, Iowa. Funeral services were that afternoon at the Cedar Memorial Chapel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Pastor Gordon Smedsrud of Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Memorial cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Jonas was born January 14, 1914 to S.J.and Regina Svendson. He married Palma Rud on July 26, 1947 at Waterloo Ridge, rural Dorchester, Iowa church. He served in the Navy during World War II, then was employed by the Wilson Meatpacking Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church, and St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the VFW, the Eagles Club, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Palma, and one brother Morris Svendson of Waukon, Iowa.
