LOUIS HEINS DIES FROM INJURIES OF TRAIN-CAR WRECK

Accident Occurred Friday at Grade Crossing Near Folsom Farm

Louis W. Heins, auto mechanic at the Gilbert Stockman garage in this city, met with an accident about 2:30 last Friday afternoon that caused his death about one hour later at Postville Hospital. He was enroute to the Lee Folsom home along highway No. 18 southeast of Postville to repair a gas engine, and in crossing the Milwaukee railroad track, just this side of the Folsom home, the car in which he was riding was struck by a Milwaukee eastbound freight, the car being hurled about forty feet and badly wrecked and Louis receiving injuries, a basal skull fracture that resulted in his death about 3:30 at the hospital in this city.

Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Heins, northwest of Postville, and was born on the parental farm April 1, 1908. On September 2, 1923, he was confirmed at the Lutheran church in this city.

As he was brought up on a farm his occupation at first was that of farming. Later he took up the work of an auto mechanic which occupation he had followed the last year or more at the Stockman garage in this city.

He was a faithful son, a loving brother, and a faithful employee, and by his genial, manly ways drew about him a wide circle of friends, who will learn of his passing with sorrow and will sympathize sincerely with the bereaved family and other relatives.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Heins; four brothers, Victor, Elmer, Lester and Virgil; and two sisters, Mrs. Lily Martens and Mrs. Esther Eberling.

Funeral services were held from St. Paul's Lutheran church in this city at two o'clock on Monday afternoon, the Rev. R. B. Garten officiating. Interment was made in the Postville cemetery.
