Lillian Cecelia Christina (Mitchell) Ball, age 60, of Waterville, Iowa died January 20, 1987 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Services were held Friday at St. Pius Catholic Church, Cherry Mound, Iowa. Burial was at the St. Patrick's Cemetery, Monona, Iowa. Casket bearers were John Kinley, James Kinley, Michael Ball, Serenus Platten, William Clark, and Mark Bruening. Hanson Funeral Home, Waukon, Iowa was in charge of the arrangements.

She married Marvin C. Ball on January 5, 1943 in Oklahoma while he was in the US Army during World War II. After her husband's discharge from the army the couple farmed near Luana, Iowa, then near Lansing, Iowa in French Creek Township. In 1974 they retired from farming and moved to Waterville, Iowa to live.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Helena Ball.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin; 4 daughters, Mrs. Donald (Donna) Kinley of Marquette, Iowa, Mrs. Serenus (Mary) PLatten of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Shirley Ball, Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Douglas (Julie) Shaffer of Lansing, Iowa; 1 son, Marvin D. Ball of Anchorage, Alaska; 13 grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Robert (Regina) Drallmeier of Monona, Iowa, Mrs. Roy (Marjorie) Thorn of Joplin, Missouri, and Mrs. Helen Vick of Decorah, Iowa.
