Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Vera Roggensack received word that her sister-in-law, Delinda Roggensack of Mount Vernon, Iowa, died Friday, February 28, 1986, in the Mount Vernon hospital. Delinda was born in Waukon, Iowa on November 27, 1896 to Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Roggensack resident. She graduated in 1921 from the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa with a Public School Music Education diploma. Memorial services will be held Saturday afternoon, March 8 at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa where she had been a professor of music for many years before she retired. She is survived by a brother, Roland Roggensack of Lancaster, Wisconsin in addition to her sister-in-law, Vera Roggensack of Waukon, Iowa.
NOTE: Delinda was a renowned teacher at Cornell. She was an author and co-author of several music college textbooks. She received an Honorary Alumni Award in June of 1966 from UNI. She is buried in Oak Hill cemetery, Lansing.
