Norman A. Grimstad, age 61, died Wednesday, November 24, 1987 in Tucson, Arizona after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Friday, December 4 at at 10:30 a.m. in Salem Lutheran Church in Moline, Illinois with the Rev. Neville Kretzmann officiating. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Rock Island arsenal with military services by American Legion Post 227 of East Moline, Illinois.

Norman was born December 6, 1925 in Ossian, Iowa to Edward and Tomina Johanna ________ Grimstad. He attended school in Dorchester, Iowa. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Eagles and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Edna Koranda and Blanch Brookens, and a brother Harold Grimstad.

Norman is survived by his wife Arlene (Curler) Grimstad; a son, Norman Grimstad, Jr. and 2 daughters, Debra Anderson and Tomina Crowe, all of Moline, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; a brother Elmer Grimstad of Sun City West, Arizona; and 6 sisters, Mrs. Victor (Nora) Stamper, Freda Grimstad, both of Waukon, Iowa, Mrs. M.L. (Clara) Yohe of Waterville, Iowa, Mrs. Ralph (Bernie) Furry of Dubuque, Iowa, Mrs. Wayne (Bunnie) Williams of Renton, Washington, and Mrs. Clark (Grace) Reno of Wrightwood, California.
