Lloyd Benjamin Forde, age 80, of rural Decorah, Iowa died Saturday, March 8, 1986 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital after a prolonged illness. Services were held Tuesday, March 11 at 1 p.m. at the Big Canoe Lutheran Church with the Rev. Steve Jensen officiating. Burial was in the Big Canoe Cemetery with the Sensor-French Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Stanley Arneson, Robert Hanson, Donald Hanson, Arnold Thorson, Milton Iverson, and Frederick Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were members of Lloyd's confirmation class, Thea Stoen, Herold Olson, Edgar Nelson, Henry Brunsvold, and Herbert Simenson.

Lloyd was born in Winneshiek County, October 5, 1905 to John and Martha (Berge) Forde. He attended rural Winneshiek County schools. He married Harriet Quanrud on June 28, 1934 at the Big Canoe Lutheran Church. He was a retired farmer, drove a maintainer for 18 years in Allamakee county and was a weed commissioner for the county.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet; a daughter Mrs. Lyle (Helen) Stegen of Decorah, Iowa and a son Dr. James Forde of Moorhead, Minnesota; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sylvia Sand of Decorah, Iowa.
