Funeral services were held Saturday, August 15 at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines, Iowa for Hazel B. Knight, age 67, of Urbandale, Iowa who died of a heart attack Thursday, August 13, 1987 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. The Rev. Orrin T. Potter officiated at the 10 a.m. services. Burial was a 4 p.m. Saturday, August 15 in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa with Westover Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Hazel was born in Waukon, Iowa on September 27, 1919 to Jesse and Leila Cornelia (Johnson) Rush. On October 31, 1938 she married Harold A. Knight at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Waterloo, Iowa for 23 years before moving to the Des Moines area in 1958. She was co-owner of Knight's Typography in Des Moines, a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Urbandale where she was active in the Women's Society, Temple Rebekah Lodge #54 in Waterloo and the ladies auxiliary of Des Moines Club of Printing House Craftsman.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are her husband, Harold; 3 daughters, June Neidert of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Sharon Poffenberger of Bondurant,Iowa, and Leila Sylvester of Hiawatha, Iowa; 2 sons, Dennis Knight of Des Moines, Iowa and Randall Knight of Berwick, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and a sister Marcella Gundacker of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
