Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Services for Nathan Alfred Johnson, age 80, of Reinbeck, Iowa were held Wednesday afternoon, September 2 at French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, Iowa with burial in the Reinbeck Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Wilhite, pastor of Reinbeck's First Baptist Church officiated.
Mr. Johnson died Monday, August 31, 1987 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center, Iowa following a lingering illness. He was born February 1, 1907 at Waukon, Iowa, the son of Nels and Anna Johnson. He was raised in Waukon, Iowa. On March 23, 1930 he married Lois Wyse at Indianola, Iowa. In 1935 he worked for the Interstate Power Company purchasing right-of-way. He farmed for two years in the Waukon area; for three years he was a Harvestore salesman and was employed by the Iowa Stormor Corp. for four years.
His wife preceded him in death on May 31, 1979.
Survivors include a son, James Johnson of Bradley, Illinois; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Jean) Koht of Reinbeck, Iowa; a brother, Carl Johnson of Eugene, Oregon; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
