Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 28 for Alton H. Hanson, age 72, who died at his home Saturday, July 25, 1987. The Rev. Lynn Groe officiated at the 11 a.m. services held at Martin funeral Home. Burial was in the Old West Paint Creek Cemetery. Casket bearers were Lyle Larson, Amos Pederson, Arlando Anderson, Roger Peterson, Harold Pronga, and Otto Thorstenson.

Alton was born June 29, 1915 in Allamakee County to Michael and Anna (Larson) Hanson. He attended local schools and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He had been a carpenter and a farmer.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, Myrtle Kolstad.
